Prison Ink 2024: A Tattoo Celebration at FÆNGSLET
Join us from May 9-11, 2024, at the historic Horsens State Prison, now transformed into the cultural institution known as FÆNGSLET, for Prison Ink 2024. This unique tattoo convention breaks away from the norm by bringing together over 200 international tattoo artists in a setting that’s rich with history and artistic inspiration.
Experience Tattoo Art in a Historic Venue
FÆNGSLET, a monumental building erected in 1853 and a former operational prison until 2006, now serves as both an event location and a museum. It attracts up to 80,000 visitors annually, offering a unique backdrop for experiencing world-class tattooing. Prison Ink 2024 promises three full days of activities, from 11 AM to 11 PM, where the prison yards transform into vibrant spaces filled with live music, exceptional graffiti art, and culinary delights.

Throughout the festival, you can watch the needle in action as tattoo artists from around the globe showcase their skills inside the Magasinet hall and the smaller cell blocks known as Arresten. Whether you’re a tattoo enthusiast or curious about getting your first ink, Prison Ink offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage directly with artists. Walk-in appointments are available, but booking in advance is recommended if you have a specific artist in mind.
Art and Music in the Courtyard
The extensive prison yard will come alive with hundreds of meters of graffiti art created by some of the top graffiti artists. Enjoy a diverse lineup of live music featuring exciting upcoming bands across various genres, adding a festive atmosphere to the mix.
